I like the Asian zodiac signs, and when I saw the doubled-hinged star structure, I thought they were made for each other. But I also wanted the book to open in a codex manner, and so I extended the pages with hinged sections that were bound with tape.

A variation on double-hinged star; the pages can be turned or they can be opened and into a star structure by tying the covers together.
Technique
Combination of stitch-over-tape binding, and double-hinged star. Images scanned and manipulated in Photoshop and copied using black and brown toner cartridges; stamp overlays.
