Summer Garden is a doubled-hinged box made with foam core that opens to display a Japanese summer garden scene. The background image is a collage of postcards by Clifton Karhu. The miniature paper dolls I found in Kyoto are of various characters from the Edo period. The cover of the box serves as a rock garden in front of the diorama.
